Mary has devoted 35+ years to learning and improving her riding technique and her knowledge of dressage.

She has successfully trained and competed a number of horses at the FEI Level.
Having ridden and shown in a variety of disciplines, the last 25 years have been focused on establishing successful teaching and training skills in dressage. Dressage is the foundation of all other types of riding. She has in-depth experience in: Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping, Hunters, Competitive Trail Riding, and Western Riding. All these disciplines have given her unusual insight and appreciation for the various aspects of riding.

Her European training has led to many awards and accomplishments including winning the prestigious Grand Prix at Devon and Festival of Champions. Having earned all 3 USDF Medals, the Bronze, Silver and Gold, is proof of her ability to train horses through the levels. She was on the USET Long List and competed in the 1992 Olympic Screening Trails on Daktary. The German training scale has been a guide to this development along with a deep rooted respect for training in the most classical manner.

Mary is a USDF Certified National Level Instructor and Trainer.

She has shared her extensive knowledge by helping develop future instructors through USDF Workshops and Seminars and giving many clinics throughout the U.S. She also spent many years teaching the U.S. Pony Club; assisting three riders in earning their "A"rating. Her son, Scott, a talented and successful rider, competed internationally a number of years on the U.S. Pony Club Games and U.S. Mounted Games Team, in addition to winning the U.S. Pony Club National Combined Training Championship.

Mary has also been featured in national magazines including Dressage Today, USDF Connection, and Dressage and CT, along with several TV programs.

She did a PBS Special for “Living with Animals” program on Advanced Dressage, TV interviews promoting Dressage.

Mary's training experience comes from many different countries but all with the same goal in mind - correct development of the horse. Such international stars as Kyra Kirkland, Nicolle Upholf, Klaus Balkenol, Reiner Klimke, Manolo Mendez, Nuno Olivero, Major Lindgren, Eicke vonVeltheim, Bent Jensen, Jessica Rousehausen, Alex Chterba, Lisa Wilcox and many others have all encouraged and helped her along the way. Mary’s desire for learning and her open-mindedness have been continuing hall-marks of her entire career. She constantly keeps updated by attending the USDF Symposiums, attends and has ridden in the USDF Trainer Conferences, and attends and has been demonstration rider for National and International Judges Forums. Mary feels all this knowledge and experience give you and your horse the best chance to be successful without compromise to your horse's mental and physical health.

"The love of all aspects of working with horses keeps the joy and wonder in each day."

A brief resume includes her many accomplishments: numerous USDF Horse of the Year Awards at each level from 2nd Level thru Grand Prix, including HOY Freestyle at 3rd and 4th Level, Intermediare 1, and Grand Prix, notably on Latour, Dutch Royale and Daktary. She also earned VADA Horse of the Year Championhips at FEI, Training, Third and Fourth and also High Score PVDA Show of over 700 rides, High Score FEI, and many Grand Prix wins.
